My Kit

Any photographer will tell you that the most important part of photography is having an eye for the perfect shot. They're certainly not wrong, however, having the correct equipment for the job (especially in wildlife photography) comes in a close second.

My kit bag has slowly been building itself up over the last two years and consists of:

Canon EOS 500D
Canon EF-S 18-55mm
Canon EF 75-300mm mk2
Sigma APO DG 70-300mm Macro
Giottos MTL 9271B Tripod
Giottos MH 1300-621 Tripod Head

None of this equipment is top of the range by any stretch of the imagination but nor is it very cheap with a total cost well over £800. I am always looking to upgrade my kit but as I'm sure you know that comes at a price and I think I'll be using this kit for some time to come.

New Addition - Bag Hide

I have just recently purchased a camouflage bag hide. Essentially its a piece of camouflage netting that you simply throw over yourself and your tripod to blend in with the surroundings. It has a hole for your lens and also for your head which is concealed by 'slightly more' see through netting.  In my experience a picture speaks a thousand words so here is one.

The results I have been getting with it are so far what I expected but I haven't used it in the country side where the animals are considerably more wary. I will let you know of the results when I do.

I have however managed to fool a human being. Whilst testing it in my very small back garden, my sister Lucie came looking for me. Unaware I was in the garden, this is the reaction I got when she managed to spot me...

So, all in all a good buy I think. :)
